Hi, i’m vernise!

I am Filipino, born and raised in Brighton and I've always loved the world of design from a young age.

As a designer, standing out is a core principle. We are taught to prioritise functional simplicity in the design world - I believe that although this is a school essential, we shouldn’t be afraid to go against the grain. It’s okay to be a little quirky, even though some people might find it weird - that’s what makes the best designers!

My design philosophy can be considered unconventional - I utilise a blend of both traditional values and push boundaries towards the “weird” side of things. In this new era of design, there’s a constant need for us to keep pushing past limits. There is truly no limit to how expansive design can be - whether it’s driving for innovations in sustainable practises, exploring new creative techniques, or breaking the wall between form and function.

VGenciana Designs will be documenting my design journey as a Product Design student at the University of Sussex, and everything in between during my experience.
